GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Philodendron gigas is a climber with deep green velvet leaves, new leaves are a copper color, and veins are white in color. This is one of the rarest and most sought after velvet Philodendrons around.

THIS SPECIFIC PLANT:  Very well rooted and small established plant grown from a leaf-less stem cutting. Last photo is of the mother plant which this cutting was taken. *Colour of the leaf may slightly differ, as it is quite difficult to photograph.

CARE: They thrive in moist soils with high organic matter (stay away from wet, mucky or dry, sandy soils), and grow best when provided with a mossy post or burlap wrapped pole to climb. It will require frequent watering to keep the soil moist (but not wet).  Humid conditions are ideal, so a humidifier is recommended, or misting the leaves a few times a day. Indoors plants thrive at temperatures between 12°c- 26°F and in lower light conditions than other house plants.
